About The Position

Uniting science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together. GSK is a global biopharma company with a special purpose – to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together – so we can positively impact the health of billions of people and deliver stronger, more sustainable shareholder returns – as an organisation where people can thrive. We prevent and treat disease with vaccines, specialty and general medicines. We focus on the science of the immune system and the use of new platform and data technologies, investing in four core therapeutic areas (infectious diseases, HIV, respiratory/ immunology and oncology). Our success absolutely depends on our people. While getting ahead of disease together is about our ambition for patients and shareholders, it’s also about making GSK a place where people can thrive. We want GSK to be a place where people feel inspired, encouraged and challenged to be the best they can be. A place where they can be themselves – feeling welcome, valued, and included. Where they can keep growing and look after their wellbeing. So, if you share our ambition, join us at this exciting moment in our journey to get Ahead Together. Department Description Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Group is responsible for integrating the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination (ADME) characteristics of drug candidate molecules from in vitro, pre-clinical and clinical information. More specifically DMPK Modeling group provides in vitro to in vivo translation, human dose predictions, and clinical using compartmental pharmacokinetics (PK) and physiologically based pharmacokinetics (PBPK) and pharmacodynamics (PD). This position will allow the selected candidate to develop their PBPK modeling skills within in the DMPK modeling group. The PBPK scientist will have the opportunity to learn about PBPK applications from early discovery to late-stage drug development for small and large molecules alike. Along with other DMPK team members, this scientist will collaborate across various cross-functional teams such as toxicology, biology, chemistry, clinical pharmacology, and formulations and will contribute to the application of model informed drug development strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with application of PBPK software SimCYP.
  • Basic knowledge of DMPK processes in drug discovery and development.
  • Basic understanding of the in vitro/ in vivo experiments used to describe general ADME principles especially drug absorption and drug distribution.
  • Scientific writing and presentation ability with excellent verbal communication skills.
