About The Position

The Supervisor, Customs Surety & In‑Transit Warehouse oversees daily operational compliance for all Container Freight Station (CFS) activities and in‑bond cargo movements. This role ensures accurate execution of in‑bond creation, maintenance, and closure; monitors CFS regulatory requirements; and supports the integrity of cargo control documentation. The supervisor coordinates with internal teams, carriers, and brokers to resolve exceptions and maintain full adherence to CBP regulations. This position does not involve physical cargo handling or warehouse labor.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in customs compliance, CFS operations, or in‑bond processing.
  • Working knowledge of CBP regulations, especially 19 CFR Parts 18 & 19.
  • Experience with ACE, AMS, ABI, or other in‑bond/cargo control platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time‑sensitive cargo control tasks.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily CFS processes align with CBP regulations, including 19 CFR Part 19.
  • Maintain CFS logs, records, and documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor cargo arrivals, holds, releases, and transfers to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support accurate reporting in CBP systems (ACE, AMS, ABI).
  • Create, update, and assist in closing in‑bond movements (IT, T&E, IE).
  • Track aging and overdue in‑bond shipments to ensure timely resolution.
  • Reconcile in‑bond records against carriers, terminals, and internal system data.
  • Communicate with drayage providers, carriers, and brokers on cargo control requirements.
  • Assist with internal audits of CFS documentation and in‑bond activity.
  • Identify discrepancies and escalate issues requiring corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate audit trails and ensure document completeness.
  • Support preparation for CBP reviews and compliance assessments.
  • Serve as a daily operational point of contact for CFS and in‑bond procedures.
  • Coordinate with brokerage, transportation, and customer service teams to ensure compliant cargo flow.
  • Communicate regulatory updates and support alignment of operational procedures.
  • Maintain supervisor‑level reports, logs, and dashboards related to CFS and in‑bond activity.
  • Provide updates to management regarding compliance issues, trends, and exceptions.
  • Ensure compliance with CBP recordkeeping and documentation retention requirements.
