About The Position

This company is an independent supplier of diesel fuel injection systems to OEMs and the aftermarket. We don’t just assemble parts. We solve complex thermal, mechanical, and hydraulic challenges, using robust experimental data and over 100 combined years of experience in materials engineering. This is an on -site position at our Blythewood, SC plant. This is a Monday - Thursday, day shift role working 10 hour days with some OT on Fridays and sometimes Saturdays. This position is also referred to as a Prototype Machinist —is responsible for providing high -precision machining support to achieve production and business goals. Their primary role involves manufacturing complex precision parts, developing fixtures, and performing equipment setups for both tool room and prototype needs.

Requirements

  • Precision Manufacturing: Manufactures high -quality precision details and parts using tool room equipment, including grinding, milling, and turning on both conventional and CNC machines.
  • Machining Analysis : Analyzes complex machining requirements to determine the necessary tools, equipment, and materials for highly involved work projects.
  • Fixture Development : Collaborates with internal customers and engineering teams to develop production methods, fixtures, and specialized tooling.
  • Equipment Setup : Completes technical setups for tool room and prototype equipment.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Reads and correctly interprets mechanical drawings, prints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes complex machining needs; determines tools, equipment and materials needed, plans and carries out highly involved work projects.
  • Manufactures high -quality precision details and parts on the tool room equipment.
  • Works with all internal customers to develop fixtures and tooling and production methods.
  • Completes set -ups on the tool room and prototype equipment.
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret mechanical drawings, prints and GD&T.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and conduct all work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment effectively
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and CAM software
