Upper School Computer Science and Makerspace Teacher Long Term Leave Replacement Mid-August 2026 to January 2027 Position: Upper School Computer Science and Makerspace Teacher, Long Term Leave Replacement Reports to: Head of Upper School FLSA: Exempt - full-time Salary Range: Prorated, based on an annualized salary of $67,500 - $100,000 commensurate with education and experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of classroom experience, ideally at the secondary level.

Nice To Haves

  • Coding: Strong Proficiency in p5.js, Arduino/C++, Python, or HTML/CSS/JS, or equivalent programming language
  • Fabrication & Makerspace: Laser Cutting, Adobe Illustrator, 3D Printing/CAD Program, Sewing & Embroidery Machine, Circuitry, Soldering, Wearable Technology

Responsibilities

  • Teach 3 Upper School classes in Computer Science or Makerspace.
  • Assist students with independent projects and the utilization of makerspace tools during open hours.
  • Assist in managing the Makerspace Apprenticeship program, overseeing student logistics and workshops.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of makerspace machinery as needed.
  • Partner with and support teachers on interdisciplinary technology and makerspace integration projects.
  • Attend department and faculty meetings.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and schedules.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive team player with a desire to contribute and share your gifts and talents with the students and administration of the school.
