This summer internship focuses on evaluating artificial intelligence (AI) models designed to predict atmospheric conditions, such as radiation, wind, cloud cover, and precipitation, at weeks-to-month lead times. These predictions are critical for optimizing hybrid energy-agriculture systems. The intern will compare model outputs against relevant field data, including datasets from previous projects sponsored by the Department of Energy's Office of Critical Minerals & Energy Innovation (CMEI). Sponsored by the NSF NRT TREAWS program (https://www.nrttreaws.org/home), this internship provides an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI and hybrid energy-agriculture systems.
