About The Position

This role oversees all warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory control functions while leading the modernization of operations through advanced D365 Warehouse Management System (WMS) capabilities. The position manages raw materials, components, finished goods, and purchased items; supervises warehouse personnel; and ensures accurate, efficient material flow to support manufacturing and customer fulfillment. Key responsibilities include managing physical inventory and cycle count programs, optimizing inventory accuracy, and preventing overstock or obsolescence. The role directs receiving activities, shipping preparation and carrier coordination, and material kitting and delivery to production cells. It prepares and verifies requisitions, maintains accurate stock records, and supports operational decision‑making through reporting and variance analysis. In parallel, the role leads the transition from paper-based processes to mobile, real-time D365 WMS execution. This includes configuring system‑directed picking paths, automated replenishment logic, ABC classifications, threshold-triggered cycle counting, and optimized warehouse slotting. The position uses D365 data and Power BI to identify systemic issues, drive continuous improvement, and enhance working capital performance. The role also collaborates with Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure smooth material flow, compliance with FSC requirements, and alignment with company initiatives such as safety, 5S, cost reduction, and process improvement. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and fostering a high‑engagement, high‑accuracy warehouse culture.

Requirements

  • High school graduate plus additional specialized training in Warehouse Management, plus two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
  • Able to use computers, including spreadsheets and databases.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for physical inventory and monthly cycle counts including development and maintenance of the cycle count program. Also, responsible to report as needed on the cycle count accuracy.
  • Supervises Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving personal.
  • Supervises preparation of products for shipping and coordinates freight pick-up and delivery.
  • Supervises Receiving functions: Receipt transaction, stocking and delivery to floor.
  • Supervises kitting of materials for work orders (MO) and delivery to production cells as needed.
  • Prepares requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
  • Compares nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
  • Checks manufacturing material requisitions for new or special materials, change of specifications, etc. and sees that stock records are changed to conform with revision.
  • Prepares reports as to material levels and order status; issues purchase and transfer requisitions.
  • Pursues and evaluates reports, schedules, forecasts, etc. having to do with material requirements.
  • Issues material requisitions and expedites low stocks, rush order materials; special materials and items, engineering changes and substitutions.
  • Notifies Expediter to expedite delivery on overdue or rush purchases.
  • During peak loads, assist with expediting, selection, dispatching and routing of materials through manufacturing and shipping.
  • Audits the coordination of physical inventories at prescribed periods; checks material records and adjusts records if variances exist, prepares reports, and avoids overstocking and dead inventory.
  • Assists in determining obsolete materials and parts; reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
  • Performs liaison duties between Manufacturing Departments relative to verification of raw material stock, in‑process materials, components in stock, conformance with schedules, timely movement and distribution to assure proper flow of materials through manufacturing.
  • Participates in Operations meetings to recommend policies; assists in determining manufacturing goals, plant manning requirements to resolve day‑to‑day or long‑range problems and other important procedural factors incidental to manufacturing operations and inventory functions.
  • Participate in various internal programs such as communications and liaison, cost reduction, work simplification, 5S, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Performs special projects as requested.
  • Ensures compliance along with QA Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) materials and FSC job requirements.
