The Weekend Evening Counselor is responsible for the overall safety of the participants in the program at 28 Rockwell Street. The Weekend Evening Counselor will assist participants in obtaining their dinner meal and performing other activities of daily living (ADL) skills. The incumbent will also work with other staff to engage participants in leisure time activities. The Weekend Evening Counselor will create and maintain a respectable atmosphere that empowers very chronic, mentally ill participants to reach their highest level of functioning. The Weekend Evening Counselor will be assigned participants and work with them on developing treatment plans, ensure follow through on individual treatment plans and document progress in the log and in the chart and ensure that all floors are clean and tidy including but not limited to kitchens, hallways, bathrooms, and individual participants rooms. The Weekend Evening Counselor will also run groups on their assigned shift. This program will follow the models of Housing First/Safe Haven. Due to emergency or unforeseen program needs, staff may be temporarily or permanently reassigned to another Safe Haven program at any given time.
