About The Position

This position provides life-long skills by coaching clients to obtain their goals and objectives from the Individual Self-Sufficiency Plan (ISP) and referral services to participants seeking assistance from general assistance and employment and training. Support staff as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of full-time work experience
  • A combination of experience, education, and training may substitute for degree requirements on a year-for-year experience.
  • Knowledge of health, social services, legal issues, training and development, and other general/local services
  • Understanding and sensitivity to Alaska Native culture and lifestyle, with demonstrated experience working effectively with the Alaska Native population.
  • Strong written, analytical, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with sensitivity to the lifestyles of targeted participants.
  • Skills in operating personal computers using a variety of computer software.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and produce timely and accurate written reports.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, including outside contacts.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Interview and assess participants to determine eligibility, needs, and appropriate services.
  • Develop and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation supports service authorization and compliance.
  • Create and manage Individual Self-Sufficiency Plans (ISPs) in collaboration with clients, aligning goals with program requirements.
  • Conduct regular case reviews and update participant records to ensure continued eligibility and progress.
  • Provide outreach, advocacy, and support services to help participants access community resources and remove barriers to success.
  • Plan and facilitate training opportunities, job fairs, and skill-building events that enhance employment and self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records, correspondence, and inventory of program assets.
  • Process approved childcare payments and ensure provider compliance with training, inspections, and health requirements.
  • Assist clients with enrollment in training and education programs through coordination with partner agencies.
  • Prepare required reports, including FASSR, weekly, and quarterly submissions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
