About The Position

The Assistant Project Accountant is responsible for assisting Project Accountant in providing financial services to the project including contract review, billings, work-in-place reporting, subcontractor and general condition payments, and cash reporting

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite or other enterprise level finance package preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
  • Able to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and other
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3+ years project management support experience, preferably in a construction environment
  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience
  • TRAVEL: Up to 10%
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing and posting monthly progress billings.
  • Ensure adherence to all contractual billing requirements.
  • Assist with the updating and weekly distribution of Productivity Rate tracking spreadsheets.
  • Support preparation of cash position/projection analysis.
  • Provide support for periodically audit billings on projects to ensure all cost has been submitted for payment.
  • Assist operations to prepare monthly cost at completion estimates.
  • Provide support for monthly cost at completion review meeting with Operations and Finance.
