Maintains the quality and integrity of all wine, beer, cocktails, and soft beverages produced at the bar and service stations. Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the bar, including side work, stocking, polishing glassware, etc. General Attributes: To maintain a high customer service focus by approaching your job with our guests' satisfaction always in mind. Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years restaurant or related experience (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year coffee barista experience, required
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use all relevant items of equipment
  • Understanding, knowledge, and ability to comply with safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
  • Ability to prioritize work activities, provide accurate information and assistance to any management or colleagues' request in a timely and courteous manner
  • Ability to use the restaurant point of sale and or reservation system
  • Ability to keep calm when faced with any unusual situations
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Knows basic math and measurements
  • Ability to take and follow direction
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Report for duty on time and ensure you use the time clock to check in and out. Manage your time, including taking rest and meal breaks in compliance with California Labor Law. Keep the Manager informed when you leave the kitchen.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and hygiene that include clean clothes, nails and hair and no heavy perfumes/colognes.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, alcohol control and sanitation protocols
  • Know our regulars and encourage new guests to become regulars by establishing a rapport that includes the guests' likes and dislikes
  • Prepare and serve beverages that adhere to the company's freshness and quality standards ensuring that they consistently reflect the company's recipe and presentation standards
  • Maintain coffee knowledge on current offerings and confidently and accurately communicate product information
  • Actively participate in coffee, tea, and wine tastings to further product knowledge and help identify any issues or deficiencies
  • Assist in the training and development of new staff
  • Attend training sessions to constantly advance education on coffee, tea, and merchandise, and espresso bar skills
  • Preparing and replenishing garnishes
  • Cleaning up messes
  • Escalates guest or event issues immediately to appropriate managers
  • Rotates bottled beer, and wine inventory.
  • Follows FIFO, first in first out process to keep perishable items fresh, including juices, fruit, wine and beer.
  • Assist staff or managers with operational service as needed
  • Completes monthly inventory of product according to standards & policies.
  • Keeps beverage back rooms organized and free of clutter
  • Prepares and cuts garnishes
  • Restocks all bar supplies at the opening and closing of each shift
  • Clean all bar surfaces during shift and end of the shift.
  • Clearly communicate with all service staff and management throughout your shift to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Complete all assigned side work pre and post shift
  • Attend trainings and pre-shift meetings
  • Fully understand the floorplan, table numbers, and seat positions of the entire venue
  • Supporting the management team in all aspects of in-house service and events
  • Smile and maintain eye contact with our guests, and always provide prompt, attentive service. Greet/Thank all customers as they enter/exit the space.
  • Assist others with stations when needed.
  • Deal with any service issues through your floor manager and communicate any unresolved issues to them at the end of the shift.
  • Supporting the management team in all aspects of in-house service and events
  • Understand the right of way (guests, floor, kitchen, bar, and staff)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor / manager
