About The Position

The focus of this position is to develop knowledge about corporate insurance functions and the specialty market place. Interns focus on developing the skills necessary for success by working with and assisting professionals with day-to-day job assignments and special projects.

Requirements

Must be working toward a Risk Management, Insurance, or Business focused degree
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated, with the proven desire to learn and gain experience
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to follow instruction and follow through on tasks
Time management skills, with ability to work on multiple projects and rotate through departments or projects as assigned
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
Must be dependable and available to work for the duration of the internship program

Responsibilities

Assist business units with work assigned to them. This includes, but is not limited to, project work and coverage of day-to-day activities within the department or business unit.
Perform duties of entry-level insurance professionals
Conduct research and/or other work for projects assigned
Perform department administrative and support duties as needed
Create, review, and/or analyze department reports and data
Participate in initiatives to improve workflows and processes
Review and update department procedures as needed
Actively participate in summer internship program events, such as lunch and learns, training, and networking
Develop business knowledge and acumen through interactions and shadowing with other professionals
Attend regular department or business unit meetings
Complete required training
Create and deliver presentations
Other tasks and projects as assigned
