About The Position

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Dance Program responding to inquiries from students, faculty, staff and external stakeholders, and serving as the dance office’s front desk greeter Handle office routine tasks including answering the phone and transferring calls, copying and scanning, sorting incoming correspondence Assist students and faculty as needed in the day-to-day maintenance of the program Supervise student assistants Monitor office and class supplies and coordinate with the Theatre and Dance Main Office on ordering new supplies Contact facilities and housekeeping as needed; submit and follow through on work orders Update & maintain rehearsal calendars and general dance events calendar Interact and communicate with other University departments as needed Manage twice-yearly student recruitment events (Dance Days), responsible for scheduling, registration, recruiting and training student volunteers, and preparing materials Trouble shoot copier/printer/scanner in the Dance office Performs other related duties as assigned Management retains the right to change or add job duties at anytime

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum one (1) year of professional experience in an administrative role preferably at a higher education institution
  • Ability to work 7:45 am-1:15 pm when classes are in session
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills as well as organizational and interpersonal expertise
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Zoom
  • Proficiency in Google (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms)
  • Ability to work well with people of varied backgrounds and talents

  • Knowledge of Workday and Banner
  • Technological proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications and software
  • Demonstrated understanding of excellent customer service
