Under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Database Administrator supports the SmartCare/MIS system in the day-to-day operations of the Information Systems department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs highly complex database administration work. Work involves planning, developing, maintaining, and monitoring integrated database systems and maintaining data integrity. Conducts user training for Center staff and maintains a library of all information systems documentation relating to electronic records. Evaluates and recommends goals and objectives for the use and improvement of EHR by collaborating with the TxACE group. Adheres and upholds policies and procedures of the information systems department. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
