About The Position

The Human Resource Generalist I position will provide general HR support with a focusing administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position also supports all other Human Resources functions as needed or requested. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records. Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews. Administer and coordinate all aspects of leave management programs including: FMLA compliance and documentation. Workers' Compensation claims. Vacation and Sick time tracking. Ensure compliance with federal and state leave regulations. Maintain accurate records of all leave-related documentation. Serve as primary point of contact for employee leave inquiries. Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files. Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence. Performs all payroll functions including biweekly processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks. Generates post payroll reports. Collaborate with the Accounting Department to maintain robust checks and balances, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. Administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers. Monitors administrators and insurance carriers reports to ensure the organizations compliance with plan requirements. Ensures the organizations and plans compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA and ERISA requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years related experience required.
