About The Position

IPG Photonics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator to support and enhance our global IT infrastructure across a fast‑paced, high‑tech manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and high‑performing systems while partnering with global IT teams to deliver services that meet business objectives and SLAs. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, and capable of balancing hands‑on technical work with proactive system improvement.

Requirements

  • Hands‑on 3-years of experience with: Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS/DHCP, LDAP VMware, Nutanix, Veeam Backup Office 365 administration Monitoring tools and performance analysis
  • Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and experience with an ITSM platform.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Azure SSO.
  • Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, VLANs, firewall basics).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and infrastructure layers.
  • Strong communication, customer service orientation, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting environments undergoing mergers & acquisitions is a plus.
  • Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator, VMware (VCP), Nutanix (NCP/NCM) and ITIL

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support core infrastructure services including Microsoft Active Directory (on‑premises and Azure AD), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Office 365, VMware, Nutanix, Citrix, and Veeam Backup.
  • Configure, deploy, upgrade, and maintain servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and related hardware.
  • Perform system installations, migrations, and lifecycle management across assigned locations.
  • Maintain SSL certificates, certificate authorities, and identity‑related infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary IT contact for site‑level infrastructure and desktop support, while collaborating with global teams to resolve enterprise-wide issues.
  • Actively triage, claim, and resolve ITSM tickets, contributing to SLA performance and service quality.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for hardware, software, and application performance issues.
  • Participate in outage/incident bridge calls and support root‑cause analysis activities.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation and scheduled patching cycles across infrastructure systems.
  • Ensure systems and applications comply with security, audit, and data‑integrity requirements.
  • Monitor infrastructure and business applications to identify issues early and recommend proactive improvements.
  • Assist with spam filtering, email security, and related protection tools.
  • Create and maintain system configuration documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Review and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and cross‑functional IT teams for issue resolution and project execution.
  • Provide weekly status updates on assigned tasks and escalate roadblocks proactively.
