About The Position

As a Security Guard - Lobby Desk Attendant in Redwood City, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a fast-paced tech and media location, you will welcome employees and guests, manage access control, monitor cameras and alarms, answer phones, and document security-related activity. You will help create a professional workplace experience through clear communication, calm problem-solving, and strong attention to detail. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a front desk location.
  • Manage access control by greeting visitors, verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials when authorized, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests to appropriate contacts.
  • Monitor front desk activity and available systems such as alarms, cameras, and/or communication tools, and report unusual activity to site leadership in a manner that helps to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including receiving calls for assistance, documenting events, and escalating notifications per site protocols.
  • Support day-to-day operations by coordinating deliveries and service requests, answering phones and/or emails, and completing required reports and shift handoffs in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines.
