Security Officer - Access Control Specialist
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Nazareth, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer in a logistics and distribution location, you will support access control by greeting team members and visitors, confirming credentials, managing entry logs, and guiding deliveries to the right areas. You will conduct routine patrols and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, while communicating clearly and providing strong customer service. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and/or drivers by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access to the facility by verifying identification, processing visitor and contractor entries, managing badge and/or key control, and documenting deliveries and pickups per post orders.
- Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and/or other site systems to help identify unauthorized entry, suspicious activity, and policy violations, then take appropriate action based on post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including completing reports, notifying the appropriate contacts, and coordinating with local authorities as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the building, warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter, noting hazards, unsecured doors, and/or unusual conditions and reporting findings per procedure.
