As a Screener with Allied Universal at a busy cruise operations location, you will support security-related screening at key entry points, operate screening equipment, and conduct routine patrols of assigned areas while remaining highly visible to help reduce incidents. You will greet guests and crew with professionalism, communicate clearly, and document unusual activity. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Have a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have X-Ray screening experience, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cruise operations environment.
  • Screen passengers, crew, vendors, and visitors at entry points using walkthrough screening, hand-wand screening, and/or bag inspection procedures in accordance with site requirements.
  • Verify identification, travel credentials, and access authorizations; manage entry and exit flow, issue visitor directions, and report access issues to supervision and/or client representatives.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, prohibited item discoveries, and/or operational disruptions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around terminal areas, boarding and staging locations, and perimeter zones; document observations, complete reports, and communicate concerns through required channels.
