About The Position

United Digestive’s (UD) Senior Manager of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the performance and productivity of the day-to-day operations of RCM teams and their functions. This role will be responsible for the oversight of all aspects of functions including, but not limited to, aligning with expected metrics, process development and training. Manages Revenue Cycle Supervisors, Team Leads and manages 3rd party vendor relationships. Responsible for overseeing the end-to-end cash application process to ensure timely, accurate posting of payments and resolution of discrepancies. This role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the cash application team, driving process improvements, compliance, and efficiency across multiple business units or regions. Meets and exceeds key metrics and goal expectations as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelors or 5-8 years of specialty RCM Leadership experience
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate an EMR system and Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Manages the team, ensuring adherence to policies, internal controls, and service-level agreements.
  • Develops and implements strategies to optimize cash application processes, leveraging automation and best practices to improve accuracy and reduce cycle times.
  • Partners with Finance, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury teams to resolve complex issues and align processes with organizational goals.
  • Establishes KPIs, monitor team performance, and provide coaching and development opportunities to build a high-performing team.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audit standards, mitigating risks related to cash handling and application.
  • Serves as the primary escalation point for high-impact or complex cash application issues, including customer disputes and system challenges.
  • Leads initiatives to evaluate and implement new technologies or enhancements to existing systems for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Delivers executive-level reporting and insights on cash application trends, aging, and reconciliation status to support decision-making.
  • Responsible for establishing, meeting, and exceeding operational workflow, productivity and results standards related to the management of the RCM department.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of a company-wide revenue cycle integration model that coordinates and aligns the resources deployed to revenue cycle functions in efforts to build consistency of workflow and optimization of resources.
  • Manages employee performance providing on-going performance feedback and addresses problems
  • Trains and educates staff as appropriate on revenue cycle activities, coding, billing, and reimbursement practices
  • Escalates issues, as appropriate, to the respective manager or department leadership
  • Provides problem solving assistance and may participate in larger department or company projects
  • Provides and analyzes data and makes recommendations for improved efficiencies in the revenue cycle function
  • Prepares operational reports, analyses and audits reflecting progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions
  • Liaisons between contracted billing companies and contractors on all revenue cycle related issues.
  • Answers emails, and voicemails, returning calls in a timely and efficient manner
  • Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
