About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to assist with tarping lumber loads and maintaining cleanliness throughout the sawmill. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe transportation of materials and maintaining a clean, organized mill environment.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pulling, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Comfortable working at elevated heights
• Comfortable working in an industrial sawmill/lumber mill environment
• Ability to operate equipment safely (previous sweeper or heavy equipment experience preferred)
• Strong attention to safety
• Dependable with strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
• Must be able to climb onto trucks and trailers
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Safely and securely throw and fasten tarps over outgoing lumber trucks
• Ensure loads are properly covered and compliant with transportation standards
• Operate a sweeper machine to clean sawdust, wood debris, and other materials throughout the mill
• Maintain cleanliness of yard areas, loading zones, and production spaces
• Assist with general yard duties as needed
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs
